If you want to find the latest “hot” places to eat in Sydney put down the guidebook and head to the blogosphere. Food bloggers are the best way to find “real” images and usually honest reviews. Luckily Sydney has some of the best food bloggers around. On top of all the great information they give the photography on these sites is amazing.
What follows is a list of my personal favourite Sydney based food bloggers… If you are heading to Sydney I would recommend you choose a couple of these as required pre-trip reading.
Eating out in Sydney is often considered expensive but eating well does not have to cost a lot and these blogs will help you find the best we have to offer.
Helen began blogging in 2004 and recently had her writing appear in published food guides. Her reviews and photos are spot on. This was the first food blog I began to read regularly and the first I added to my feed reader several years ago. I love her writing and she seems to like the same food I do so this is my favourite.
Eat, show and tell
This blog has 5 authors who like to share what and where they eat with fellow food lovers. There are posts from Sydney, Melbourne and places they travel to, most recently Vietnam. Lots of great photos here too.
Jenius
Jen’s blog has some great lists for travellers including “restaurants to impress”. She also runs Sydney food tours called ” I ate my way through” food tours So far she has tours up and running in Cabramatta (Vietnamese) and Granville (Lebanese). Great for someone who wants to try something different on their visit to Sydney.
A table for two
I have read Billy’s blog for some time and was really pleased when he turned up on Season 3 of Masterchef Australia. Along with plenty of Sydney food reviews Billy is a brilliant food photographer and has run workshops in food photography.
Simon Food Favourites
I love the way Simon lists pros and cons of the places he visits. His reviews are honest and the places I have eaten from his recommendations have not been a letdown.
