Avoid the crowds and bring in the New Year, sharing a meal

Choosing a waterfront restaurant for the 2024 NYE Fireworks event is a great way to ensure you are front and centre for the show.

In the past, it was pretty safe to leave your NYE restaurant booking until just before Christmas, but this year I would suggest this may change. The increase in free areas may see many who do not want to spend all day waiting for the show to start turn to restaurants.

NYE Dining at Circular Quay and The Rocks

As you would expect, the Harbour Bridge and Opera House are the focal points of the New Year’s Eve fireworks, so booking your dinner in this area gives you the best chance of having a front-row seat.

Botanic House

See in the new year with a 6-course degustation dining experience designed by Luke Nguyen and served with matching wines. Champagne on a lawn for 9:00pm and midnight fireworks. The evening runs from 7:00pm-12:30am.

Cafe Sydney

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in style at Cafe Sydney, with an unforgettable evening overlooking the iconic Sydney Harbour. Enjoy a six-course dinner crafted by Executive Chef Sarahjane Brown, featuring the finest Australian summer produce.

The experience includes a cocktail on arrival and a carefully curated wine pairing with each course, ensuring every moment is filled with elegance and celebration. With front-row seats to the midnight fireworks, I think this is one of the very best NYE views in the city. I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed; the food is as good as the view.

Q Station

Make your way to North Head for a 3-course menu and a 2-hour beverage package. Good views over the harbour – quite distant but still very nice.

There will be two seatings: 5:30pm or 7:30pm.

Chirosco by Ormeggio

Chirosco will offer two seatings of their bespoke sharing feast. An early bird sunset menu is available at 5pm, perfect for those heading out to watch the fireworks or happy for an early night. The second seating starts at 8pm, and guests are welcome to stay until after midnight.

NYE Restaurants on the Southside of the Harbour

There are a number of restaurants on this side of the bridge with views of the fireworks spectacular.

Infinity at Sydney Tower

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Infinity, Sydney Tower, with a 6-course degustation menu crafted by Head Chef Guillaume Gritteret, perfectly paired wines by Head Sommelier Louella Mathews, and stunning 360° views of Sydney’s skyline.

Enjoy live jazz from 9:30pm, and witness the world-famous fireworks from a unique vantage point. Seating from 6:45pm with the venue open until 12:45am. A vegan menu is also available.

A great choice for families, Skyfeast offers stunning views and an unlimited premium buffet, and quality Champagne and premium beverage package.

Bar 83

Ring in the New Year in style at Bar 83, Sydney Tower. Enjoy free-flowing canapés, premium beverages, and lavish Champagne while taking in the stunning 260° views of Sydney’s skyline and fireworks.

If you are not all about the fireworks, then why not Boogie into the new year with Priscilla Queen of the New Year?

Lotus Double Bay

West of the Harbour Bridge

Venues in Darling Harbour will have views of the Darling Harbour Fireworks but not necessarily the main Sydney Harbour show. Check the map and ask any questions you may have to the venue directly.

Sailmaker Restaurant

Farewell 2024 in style and enjoy a five-course degustation menu. Chef’s curated menu features the finest Australian produce including grain-fed wagyu, ocean-to-plate Murray cod, and mouth-watering margra lamb.

New Year’s Eve Rooftop Frose Party: Say goodbye to with an epic Rooftop Frose Party.
