Planning a weekend away from the city for a short break? Want to add another dimension to your itinerary?
Well, you are in luck. There are so many options for weekends or 2-day breaks outside Sydney that are within a couple of hours of the city that you could go somewhere different every weekend for a year!
Head South and you can explore Wollongong, Kiama or Gerringong in the Illawarra region in less than 2 hours. Add another hour and Jervis Bay and the whitest sand in the world.
Head north to the Central Coast for National Parks and the waterways of the Hawkesbury River, Brisbane Water and Lake Macquarie all only a couple of hours drive from the centre of town. Another hour will get you to Newcastle and the beautiful Port Stephens.
If you prefer to go west, you can sample some fantastic Aussie wines in the Hunter Valley or Mudgee win regions. Explore the World Heritage-listed the Blue Mountains or drive an extra hour to discover the nation’s capital.
