Where to Stay Near Western Sydney Airport for Early Flights and Late Arrivals

Western Sydney International Airport opens to passengers on 25 October 2026. It’s at Badgerys Creek, about 45km west of the Sydney CBD. Unlike Sydney Airport at Mascot, it has no night curfew, so planes can take off and land at any hour.

Airlines are already scheduling flights at the edges of the day. Singapore Airlines will leave for Changi at 11.55pm every night from 23 November, and Air New Zealand’s flight from Auckland lands at 7.50am.

If your flight sits at either end of the day, where you sleep the night before makes a real difference. This guide covers 14 hotels, motels and serviced apartments within about 40 minutes’ drive of the terminal. They’re listed from closest to furthest, with the drive time for each and anything worth knowing before you book.

I started looking into this when I was planning a trip to Singapore in January and noticed Singapore Airlines has a daily flight from Western Sydney. Before I chose my flight, I wanted to check the logistics of staying nearby.

Why Stay Near Western Sydney Airport?

There’s no train in place when the airport opens, and the free shuttle from St Marys doesn’t start until 4.30am. So for a 6am departure, you’ll most likely be driving, taking a taxi or booking a rideshare. If you live in the eastern suburbs, the North Shore or the Central Coast, that’s a very early alarm.

Late arrivals have the opposite problem. The Singapore Airlines flight lands at 10.20pm, and by the time you’ve cleared immigration and collected your bags, it could be close to midnight. A short drive to a bed is easier than a long drive home.

Not everyone needs a hotel. If your flight leaves mid-morning and you live in western or south-western Sydney, driving in on the day is probably fine.

Where These Suburbs Are

The airport sits at Badgerys Creek, in open land between Penrith to the north and Camden to the south. Most hotels nearby fall into five areas.

  • Oran Park, to the south. This is a new master-planned suburb near Camden, and the closest area to the airport. It’s mostly new homes and a town centre, with Atura Oran Park at its heart.
  • Liverpool and surrounds, to the south-east. Liverpool is one of Western Sydney’s main centres, with a big shopping centre and a train station. The hotels here are spread around it, at Prestons, Casula and Warwick Farm, and most are close to the M7 or the Hume Highway.
  • Penrith and St Marys, to the north. Penrith sits on the Nepean River at the foot of the Blue Mountains, and it’s a good base if you’re heading up the mountains before or after your trip. St Marys is a few stations east, and the free airport shuttle leaves from there.
  • Rooty Hill, Eastern Creek and Arndell Park, to the north-east. These suburbs cluster around where the M4 and M7 meet. Sydney Zoo, Raging Waters and Sydney Motorsport Park are all here, and so is the West HQ entertainment precinct at Rooty Hill.
  • Parramatta, further east. This is Sydney’s second CBD, with the most restaurants, shops and things to do. It’s also the furthest from the airport, at close to 40 minutes.

If you’re driving in from the eastern suburbs, the North Shore or the Central Coast, the Rooty Hill, Eastern Creek and Parramatta hotels are the easiest to reach after work. They’re all close to the M4 or M7.

Hotels Near Western Sydney Airport, Closest First

Atura Oran Park

About 18 minutes’ drive (17km) to the airport.

This is the closest hotel on the list, and it’s brand new. Atura Oran Park opens on the 30th of October 2026 in the middle of Oran Park Town, a master-planned suburb built on the site of the old Oran Park Raceway. It’s the first hotel in the suburb.

There are 184 rooms. The range runs from standard rooms through to rooms with balconies, pool views and family rooms. Tavola, the Italian restaurant on level one, is the main place to eat, and room service is available. There’s also an outdoor pool and terrace.

Reception is open 24 hours, so landing late isn’t a problem. Check-in is officially 3pm to 11pm, but the hotel told me you can check in early through your confirmation email. Your room key is then sent to your phone at 3pm and you go straight to your room.

There’s no airport transfer. Staff can recommend transfer companies, so ask about this when you book.

Parking is $20 a day. You can’t leave your car there while you travel, though. Picking it up a few hours after an 11am check-out is fine. Leaving it for the length of your trip is not.

Mercure Sydney Liverpool (Prestons)

About 21 minutes’ drive (24km) to the airport, using the M7.

Don’t let the name fool you. This hotel sits at Prestons, a few kilometres south-west of Liverpool’s centre and close to the M7. For an airport stay, that works in its favour, since you’re on the motorway within minutes of leaving.

There are 192 rooms over five floors, an outdoor pool with a separate kids’ pool, and a fitness centre. The Atrium restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, and there’s a bar and a coffee shop. I stayed here a few years ago when I was attending a wedding nearby. The hotel was comfortable, and having the club right next door was handy.

Parking is free on site. That puts it ahead of several hotels on this list where parking costs extra. Reception is open 24 hours.

Breakfast is a buffet at about $39 per person. It starts at 6am on weekdays and 7am on weekends, which is too late if you have a 6am flight.

Check-out is 10am.

Best Western Casula Motor Inn (Budget)

About 22 minutes’ drive (27km) to the airport, using the M7.

This is the best-reviewed budget option on the list. It’s a family-run motel on the Hume Highway at Casula, with 31 rooms. Some rooms have a kitchenette, and there are studio and two-bedroom apartments if you’re travelling as a family or group.

Parking is free, right outside, and reception is open 24 hours. There’s no restaurant, but the Crossroads Hotel is about a six-minute walk away for dinner.

Breakfast is cooked to order from 6am. It costs extra, from $5.50 for a light option up to about $30.

It’s on a main road, and one reviewer mentioned some traffic noise. If you’re a light sleeper, mention it when you book.

Check-out is 10am.

St Marys Park View Motel (Budget)

About 23 minutes’ drive (20km) to the airport.

This is the only motel on the list where you could get to the airport without a car or a taxi. It’s about a 15-minute walk from St Marys station, where the free airport shuttle leaves every 30 minutes from 4.30am. The trip takes about 30 minutes. That’s a long walk with a suitcase in the dark, though, so most people will still drive or book a ride.

The motel is a basic two-storey building with 28 rooms, an outdoor pool and free parking. Some rooms are spa rooms, and connecting rooms are available. A continental breakfast costs $12 per person. There’s no restaurant, but there are takeaway places and a pub within a few minutes’ walk.

It suits early departures better than late arrivals. Reception isn’t open 24 hours. Check-in ends at 10pm, so if you’re landing on a late flight, you’ll need to contact the motel before you arrive.

Check-out is 10am.

Mercure Penrith

About 23 minutes’ drive (24km) to the airport.

This is the biggest hotel on the Penrith side, with 222 rooms. It sits next to Panthers Penrith, so you have plenty of choice for dinner the night before a flight without getting back in the car. Five Guys, Outback Steakhouse and the Panthers club are all a short walk away.

There’s an outdoor pool, a gym and a bar. Parking is free on site, though spaces are limited. Reception is open 24 hours, which suits late arrivals.

Check-out is 11am.

The Select Inn Penrith (Budget)

About 25 minutes’ drive (25km) to the airport.

This budget motel near the centre of Penrith has some of the strongest reviews on the list. Guests mention clean rooms and helpful staff. There’s an outdoor pool with a kids’ pool, a small gym and free parking. Room types include family rooms and suites.

There’s no restaurant on site. The Log Cabin and the Panthers precinct are close by for dinner.

The big catch is reception hours. The desk closes at 8pm (5pm on Sundays), and late arrivals collect their key from a lockbox. You’ll need to contact the motel before you arrive. It’s a sound pick for an early departure, but not for a late flight in.

Check-out is 10am.

Alpha Hotel Eastern Creek

About 25 minutes’ drive (31km) to the airport, using the M12.

This hotel sits beside Sydney Motorsport Park, right by the motorway, with Sydney Zoo and Raging Waters a couple of minutes’ drive away. That makes it worth a look for families who want to add a day out to the trip.

There are 164 rooms over three floors, an indoor pool and a gym. The Oak Bar and Grill serves dinner. Breakfast is a buffet for about $27 per person, and it starts at 6am every day, so it’s one of the few options here for an early breakfast before a mid-morning flight.

Parking is free, in an open-air car park. Reception is open 24 hours.

Check-out is 10am.

Quest Penrith

About 27 minutes’ drive (25km) to the airport.

Quest Penrith is right next to Penrith station and a three-minute walk from Westfield Penrith. It has 114 studios and one and two-bedroom apartments, all with a kitchenette. If you’re travelling as a family, or need a few nights before a long flight, the extra space and a fridge help.

There’s a restaurant, two cafes and a gym. Parking costs $30 a day and is limited, so book it when you book your room.

Plan ahead for a late arrival. Reception is open from 7am to 11pm, and you need to contact the property at least 24 hours before you arrive if you’ll be checking in outside those hours.

The station is next door, and freight trains run overnight. One guest said the train horns woke them. Light sleepers should pack earplugs.

Check-out is 10am.

Novotel Sydney West HQ, Rooty Hill

About 27 minutes’ drive (32km) to the airport, using the M7 and M12.

This hotel is part of the West HQ precinct at Rooty Hill. That means there’s a lot to do the night before your flight. The precinct has several restaurants and bars, and the Sydney Coliseum Theatre is a few minutes’ walk away, so you could book a show and sleep there before an early departure.

There are 164 rooms, an indoor pool and a gym. Parking and wifi are free, and reception is open 24 hours. Food service starts at 6am, and there’s no grab-and-go option before then.

You can reach the airport by bus from Mount Druitt station on route 772. It runs every 30 minutes from 5am to 10pm. The hotel doesn’t run its own shuttle.

Room rates started from $207 a night in early October 2026.

Quest Liverpool

About 30 minutes’ drive (26km) to the airport.

Quest Liverpool is in the town centre, about a four-minute walk from Liverpool station. It has 87 studios and one and two-bedroom apartments over eight floors. The apartments have full kitchens with a full-size fridge and a stovetop, which helps if you’re a family or need a few nights before a long flight.

There’s a 24-hour gym. Parking costs $20 a night and spaces are limited, so ask for one when you book.

Reception is open from 7am to 10pm. If you’ll arrive after 8pm, contact the property beforehand to arrange your check-in. That makes it a better fit for early departures than for late flights in.

Check-out is 10am.

Holiday Inn Warwick Farm

About 30 minutes’ drive (27km) to the airport.

This hotel is on the edge of Liverpool, near the Warwick Farm racecourse. It has 146 rooms, an outdoor pool, a 24-hour gym, and Norton’s Restaurant on site. Parking is free and reception is open 24 hours.

Breakfast is an early one here. The buffet starts at 6am on weekdays and 6.30am on weekends, and costs about $35 per person.

There isn’t much within walking distance, and the nearest station is about 20 minutes away on foot. Plan to drive, or eat at the hotel.

Check-out is 11am.

The William Inglis Hotel, MGallery

About 32 minutes’ drive (28km) to the airport.

This is the most upmarket hotel on the list. It’s a 144-room MGallery hotel next to Warwick Farm racecourse, with rooms themed around famous racehorses. There’s a rooftop pool, a full day spa, a gym, a restaurant and a poolside bar. Parking is free, though spaces are limited, and reception is open 24 hours.

William Ingliss Hotel
William Ingliss Hotel

It’s further from the airport than most hotels on this list. But if you want the night before a long-haul flight to feel like part of the holiday, it’s the one to book.

Breakfast starts at 6am on weekdays and 6.30am on weekends. It costs about $40 for adults and $20 for children.

Check-out is 11am.

PARKROYAL Parramatta

About 38 minutes’ drive (39km) to the airport, using the M12.

This is the furthest hotel on the list. It’s worth considering if you’re combining your flight with time in Parramatta, or want to see Powerhouse Parramatta, which opens on 7 November 2026. It’s a 10-minute walk from Parramatta station and close to Parramatta Park.

Deluxe King Room at Parramatta PARKROYAL
Deluxe King Room at PARKROYAL Parramatta

There are 286 rooms, an outdoor pool, a gym and the Table 30 restaurant. Reception is open 24 hours.

Parking costs $45 a night, which is the most on this list. The car park is small and spaces are limited so be sure to book ahead.

Breakfast is a buffet for about $40 per adult. It starts at 6am on weekdays and 7am on weekends. Check-out is 11am.

Getting From Your Hotel to the Airport

Most people will drive or take a taxi or rideshare, especially for flights before 6am. Public transport works for some trips, but it doesn’t start early enough for the first flights of the day.

For airlines, parking and more on the airport itself, see our Western Sydney Airport guide.

Driving and parking

The M12 Motorway runs straight to the terminal and is toll-free. If you’re coming from the Liverpool or Rooty Hill side, you’ll likely use the M7 first, and that part is tolled.

There are three car parks.

  • Long-stay is the cheapest, from $15 a day, and a shuttle bus takes you to the terminal.
  • Saver costs from $29 a day and is a two to three-minute walk from the terminal.
  • Premium, from $49 a day, is also a two to three-minute walk away.

These rates are for travel between 25 October 2026 and the end of April 2027. Booking online is cheaper, and the car parks read your number plate on entry, so there’s no ticket to lose.

If someone is dropping you off or picking you up, there’s a free 15-minute express zone outside the terminal.

Free shuttle from St Marys to Western Sydney Airport

The free WSI Link bus runs between St Marys station and the terminal every 30 minutes. It starts at 4.30am and runs until midnight Sunday to Thursday, and until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. The trip takes about 30 minutes.

It’s the only public transport that runs early enough for a 6am flight. You can catch a train to St Marys from anywhere on the T1 Western Line.

Public buses

Five bus routes link the airport with nearby centres:

  • Route 790 from Penrith
  • Route 772 from Mount Druitt
  • Routes 825 and 860 from Liverpool
  • Route 845 from Campbelltown

They run every 30 minutes from 5am to 10pm, seven days a week. That rules them out for very early departures and for late arrivals like the Singapore Airlines flight, which lands at 10.20pm.

Taxis and rideshare

Taxis and rideshare will pick up and drop off at the terminal. For a very early start, book ahead to be safe.

Train

There’s no train yet. The Sydney Metro line from St Marys to the airport is due to open in 2027. Once it does, the trip from St Marys station to the terminal should take about 15 minutes.
